SINGAPORE: Singapore Airlines (SIA), widely regarded as one of the best airlines in the world, has reaffirmed its dedication to ensuring a safe environment for its staff and passengers. This comes after an incident of verbal and physical abuse directed at cabin crew on Flight SQ826 on February 6, 2025, during the taxi for takeoff from Singapore (SIN) to Shanghai (PVG), which was scheduled for a 1:15 AM departure.
Swift Action Taken by Flight Crew and Airport Authorities
The airline’s flight crew promptly followed safety protocols, returning the aircraft to the terminal gate. Disruptive passengers, along with their companion, were handed over to airport authorities at Changi Airport (SIN) to guarantee the security of all onboard.
SIA’s Firm Stance Against Abusive Behavior
A spokesperson for Singapore Airlines reiterated the airline’s zero-tolerance policy against abusive behavior. The airline has maintained strict confidentiality regarding the identities of those involved in the incident. As a result of the disruption, the flight experienced a delay of 1 hour and 46 minutes, with a new departure time set at 3:01 AM.
