Jenis RAM yang Menjalankan Komputer

Halo Sobat Teknokrat, Jaman sekarang ini hampir setiap perangkat berkemampuan komputasi membutuhkan RAM . Lihatlah perangkat favorit Anda (misalnya, smartphone, tablet, desktop, laptop, kalkulator grafik, HDTV, sistem permainan genggam, dll.), dan Anda harus menemukan beberapa informasi tentang RAM. Meskipun semua RAM pada dasarnya memiliki tujuan yang sama, pada kesempatan kali ini kita akan membahas tentang Jenis RAM.

Apa itu RAM di Komputer?

RAM atau Random Access Memory digunakan untuk menyimpan data, namun, semua informasi hilang setelah catu daya dilepas.

Ini membuatnya menjadi memori yang mudah menguap. Jika Anda memahami memori yang mudah menguap secara sederhana, maka itu adalah memori yang pelupa, yaitu data dari memori ini selalu dihapus.

Data yang tersimpan di memori ini tidak disimpan lama karena data yang tersimpan di memori ini otomatis terhapus begitu komputer dimatikan.

Memori ini sangat kuat karena pekerjaan yang dilakukan di komputer saat ini dilakukan oleh memori ini dan memori RAM ada di setiap jenis sistem komputer. Karena tidak ada sistem komputer yang dapat berjalan tanpa memori RAM.

Tetapi apa yang membuat RAM berguna adalah informasi apa pun dapat diakses dengan cepat saat menjalankan program apapun dibandingkan dengan ROM. Artinya, memori RAM paling cepat dalam hal pemrosesan kunci ini.

Selain itu, ia juga memiliki opsi untuk menulis serta membaca memori, yang RAM-nya juga disebut memori baca-tulis. Artinya, dalam bahasa sederhana, Anda bisa mengutak-atik data memori RAM.

Pengetahuan Dasar Tentang RAM

Perangkat apa pun akan terdiri dari bagian memori untuk menyimpan informasi. Faktanya, selalu ada dua jenis memori – satu volatile dan yang lainnya permanen.

CPU memiliki dua jenis memori – RAM dan ROM . RAM bertindak sebagai memori yang mudah menguap untuk fungsi-fungsi seperti membaca dan menulis.

Seperti yang kita semua tahu bahwa ada berbagai jenis komputer untuk penggunaan yang berbeda, demikian pula, kami memiliki berbagai jenis RAM untuk kebutuhan yang berbeda.

Mari kita belajar tentang berbagai jenis RAM dan penggunaannya.

Pada dasarnya 2 Jenis RAM, yang namanya diberikan di bawah ini.

  1. SRAM
  2. DRAM

Apa Itu Statis RAM (SRAM)

SRAM Singkatan dari Static Random Access Memory adalah jenis RAM yang menyimpan data selama daya dipasok.

Artinya, SRAM juga merupakan memori volatile yang menyimpan data sampai komputer dimatikan dan segera setelah komputer dimatikan, data yang tersimpan di SRAM otomatis dihapus.

SRAM menyimpan data sedikit demi sedikit dan SRAM menggunakan sirkuit pengunci untuk menyimpan data sedikit demi sedikit. Dengan kata lain, tidak perlu di-refresh setiap saat seperti DRAM. Kecepatan SRAM lebih cepat dari DRAM dan SRAM mengkonsumsi lebih sedikit daya daripada DRAM.

Tujuan utama menggunakan RAM statis di komputer manapun adalah untuk membuat memori cache.

Memori RAM statis sangat mahal karena memori ini dirancang menggunakan struktur yang kompleks dan kompleksitas memori ini juga terbatas untuk menyimpan data dalam satu chip. Untuk alasan ini, chip memori SRAM tidak memiliki kapasitas untuk menyimpan data sebanyak dibandingkan dengan chip memori DRAM.

Untuk alasan ini, memori SRAM digunakan dalam aplikasi yang lebih kecil. Seperti – memori cache CPU, buffer hard drive, Compact Disc, Printer, Modem, router, DVD, dan kamera Digital.

Karakteristik SRAM

  • Seperti semua komponen memori , ia juga memiliki sel memori, yang terdiri dari 6 transistor.
  • Ini digunakan sebagai memori cache CPU.
  • Ini memiliki waktu akses yang lebih rendah, yang berarti lebih cepat daripada DRAM.
  • SRAM itu Mahal.
  • SRAM membutuhkan catu daya yang konstan untuk menyimpan informasi dan dengan demikian mengkonsumsi lebih banyak daya.
  • Ini terdiri dari sirkuit flip-flop untuk menyimpan bit informasi.

Kelebihan SRAM

  • ni lebih disukai karena kecepatan aksesnya , meskipun lebih mahal.
  • Ini sangat membantu selama cache yang sensitif terhadap kecepatan.
  • SRAM sederhana dan mudah ditangani.
  • Ini cukup andal dan karenanya digunakan untuk memori cache.

Kekurangan SRAM

  • Kecepatannya tidak mengimbangi harganya.
  • Ini adalah memori yang mudah menguap, sehingga semua data hilang setelah listrik terputus.
  • Ini juga memiliki kapasitas penyimpanan yang rendah dan membutuhkan lebih banyak ruang.
  • Desainnya cukup kompleks dan tidak mudah untuk dibangun atau dipaham

  • Sinkronis
  • SRAM palsu
  • SRAM Non-Volatile

Apa Itu Dinamis RAM (DRAM)

DRAM Singkatan dari Dynamic Random Access Memory, adalah jenis ram yang terdiri dari sel memori yang terdiri dari transistor dan kapasitor.

DRAM menyimpan informasi dalam kapasitor. Seperti yang kita ketahui, kapasitor memiliki kecenderungan untuk melepaskan bahkan dalam catu daya terus menerus, sehingga mulai kehilangan informasi dalam milidetik.

Lalu bagaimana DRAM menyimpan informasi untuk CPU?

Informasi yang disimpan dalam DRAM adalah dalam bentuk 0 dan 1. Kapasitor yang diisi mewakili 1 dan 0 ketika dikosongkan.

Transistor dalam rangkaian bertindak sebagai saklar untuk mengubah keadaan kapasitor dan membaca informasi juga.

Sekarang pertimbangkan kapasitor sebagai wadah penuh elektron – keberadaan elektron adalah 1 dan wadah kosong adalah 0.

Masalah dengan wadah ini adalah ia memiliki kebocoran yang mengarah ke wadah kosong dalam milidetik. Di sinilah istilah dinamis masuk.

Mikrokontroler atau CPU masuk ke dalam gambar dan mengisi ulang semua kapasitor, menyimpan informasi sebelum dilepaskan.

Pengontrol memori membantu membaca semua info sebelum dikeluarkan dan menulisnya kembali.

Inilah yang disebut kerja dinamis untuk menyimpan informasi. Proses penyegaran ini terjadi sekitar 100 kali dalam satu detik.

Namun, ada sisi negatifnya. Proses charging, discharging, dan refresh membuat memori menjadi lambat.

Karakteristik DRAM

  • Menjadi pilihan yang murah, DRAM adalah memori yang paling umum digunakan di PC saat ini.
  • Ini membutuhkan lebih sedikit ruang.
  • Ini mengkonsumsi daya jauh lebih sedikit daripada SRAM.
  • DRAM memiliki waktu akses yang baik, namun masih lebih lambat dari SRAM.

Kelebihan DRAM

  • Dengan kehadiran hanya satu transistor, DRAM memiliki desain yang sederhana.
  • Memiliki tingkat kepadatan yang lebih tinggi.
  • Lebih murah dari SRAM.
  • Ruang memori lebih besar.

DDR SDRAM

Bentuk lengkap DDR SDRAM adalah Double Data Rate Synchronous Dynamic Random Access Memory.

Ini memiliki bandwidth yang lebih tinggi, sehingga membuatnya lebih cepat. Kecepatan transfer data maksimumnya kira-kira 1.064 Mbps, yang dianggap cukup cepat.

Data ditransfer pada kedua tepi- naik dan turunnya jam, sehingga kecepatannya dua kali lipat. Itu dapat melakukan operasi tulis dan baca secara bersamaan.
