Dalam upaya meningkatkan kemampuan sumber daya manusia, Kementerian Kelautan dan Perikanan (KKP) terus mendukung efektivitas program Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka (MBKM). Badan Penyuluhan dan Pengembangan SDM Kelautan dan Perikanan (BPPSDM) KKP melakukan optimalisasi program ini di satuan pendidikan vokasi.
Salah satu pelaksanaannya adalah dengan menyelenggarakan kegiatan praktik di Loka Riset Mekanisasi Pengolahan Hasil Perikanan (LRMPHP) Bantul, Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta, yang melibatkan Politeknik Kelautan dan Perikanan (Politeknik KP) Sidoarjo, Jawa Timur.

“Penerapan sistem pendidikan vokasi di KKP secara resmi mengadopsi porsi praktik sebesar 70 persen dan teori 30 persen,” kata Kepala BPPSDM I Nyoman Radiarta dalam keterangan tertulis di Jakarta pada Ahad (14/1/2024).
Nyoman menjelaskan bahwa sebagai dukungan terhadap implementasi MBKM, LRMPHP menerima partisipasi 29 taruna-taruni dari Politeknik KP Sidoarjo. Langkah ini juga sebagai bagian dari upaya untuk mengoptimalkan aset-aset hasil riset guna mendukung pengembangan Sumber Daya Manusia (SDM).
Dalam konteks ini, Nyoman menegaskan komitmen BPPSDM untuk meningkatkan standar mutu satuan pendidikan di bidang Kelautan dan Perikanan dengan mengadopsi skema MBKM.
“Proses pembelajaran tidak hanya terbatas pada lingkungan kampus atau ruang kelas, melainkan juga melibatkan kegiatan praktik di Unit Pelaksana Teknis (UPT) BPPSDM dan magang di Dunia Usaha dan Dunia Industri Kelautan dan Perikanan,” ujar Nyoman.
Nyoman menyampaikan bahwa MBKM adalah kebijakan Menteri Pendidikan dan Kebudayaan untuk mendorong mahasiswa memiliki penguasaan berbagai keilmuan yang berguna dalam dunia kerja. Program Kampus Merdeka memberikan kebebasan kepada mahasiswa untuk memilih mata kuliah yang ingin mereka ambil.
“Sinergi dan kerjasama antara seluruh Unit Pelaksana Teknis (UPT) BPPSDM menjadi kunci keberhasilan Program Strategis BPPSDM dan Program Prioritas KKP yang berfokus pada ekonomi biru,” tambah Nyoman.
Nyoman juga menyampaikan bahwa para taruna dari Politeknik KP Sidoarjo yang melakukan praktik dalam konteks MBKM di LRMPHP berasal dari Program Studi Mekanisasi Perikanan Semester Genap Tahun Akademik 2023/2024 dan akan menjalani kegiatan praktik selama enam bulan ke depan.
